JAI CORP Plunges 6%; BSE METAL Index Up 0.4%

JAI CORP share price has plunged 6% and is presently trading at Rs 368.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 32,517.2 (up 0.4%).

Among the top losers in the BSE METAL index today are Jindal Steel (down 0.3%) and Hindalco .

JSW Steel (up 1.1%) and Vedanta (up 0.9%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, JAI CORP has moved up from Rs 228.2 to Rs 368.0, registering a gain of Rs 139.8 (up 61.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 21,357.5 to 32,517.2, registering a gain of 52.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were Coal India (up 131.1%), Vedanta (up 96.2%) and NMDC (up 83.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 82,648.3 (up 0.6%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Reliance Ind. (up 1.4%) and Bajaj Finserv (up 1.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Reliance Ind. and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,249.7 (up 0.4%). HDFC Bank and BPCL are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,996.6 to 82,648.3, registering a gain of 17,651.7 points (up 27.2%).

JAI CORP Financial Update...

JAI CORP net profit grew 133.8% YoY to Rs 138 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 59 million a year ago. Net sales rose 4.6% to Rs 1,209 million during the period as against Rs 1,156 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, JAI CORP reported 489.9% increase in net profit to Rs 529 million compared to net loss of Rs 136 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 22.1% to Rs 4,631 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of JAI CORP, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 105.1.
