ALEMBIC Gains 8%; BSE HEALTHCARE Index Down 0.1%

ALEMBIC share price has zoomed 8% and is presently trading at Rs 111.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE HEALTHCARE index is at 36,773.2 (down 0.1%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE HEALTHCARE index today are GRANULES INDIA (up 4.0%) and POLY MEDICURE (up 3.4%).

Pfizer (down 3.2%) and NARAYANA HRUDAYALAYA (down 2.7%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, ALEMBIC has moved up from Rs 73.0 to Rs 111.1, registering a gain of Rs 38.1 (up 52.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE HEALTHCARE index has moved up from 25,095.6 to 36,773.2, registering a gain of 46.5% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE HEALTHCARE index stocks during this same period were Cadila Healthcare (up 95.2%), Natco Pharma (up 91.3%) and Glenmark Pharma (up 91.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 77,209.9 (down 0.4%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Ultratech Cement (down 2.2%) and L&T (down 1.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and ITC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,501.1 (down 0.3%). Ultratech Cement and Adani Enterprises are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,327.7 to 77,209.9, registering a gain of 13,882.2 points (up 21.9%).

ALEMBIC Financial Update...

ALEMBIC net profit grew 353.0% YoY to Rs 213 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 47 million a year ago. Net sales rose 32.1% to Rs 490 million during the period as against Rs 371 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, ALEMBIC reported 6.5% decrease in net profit to Rs 806 million compared to net profit of Rs 862 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 62.7% to Rs 1,272 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of ALEMBIC, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 30.7.
