POKARNA Gains 11%; BSE METAL Index Up 2.2%

POKARNA share price has zoomed 11% and is presently trading at Rs 723.2.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 33,842.3 (up 2.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE METAL index today are Vedanta (up 5.5%) and NMDC (up 4.5%).

Over the last one year, POKARNA has moved up from Rs 391.3 to Rs 723.2, registering a gain of Rs 332.0 (up 84.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 20,628.2 to 33,842.3, registering a gain of 64.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were NMDC (up 157.9%), Hindustan Zinc (up 114.1%) and Coal India (up 113.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 77,449.1 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are JSW Steel (up 2.2%) and Reliance Ind. (up 1.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and HDFC Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,552.5 (up 0.2%). Hindalco and JSW Steel are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,168.3 to 77,449.1, registering a gain of 14,280.8 points (up 22.6%).

POKARNA Financial Update...

POKARNA net profit grew 48.7% YoY to Rs 164 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 110 million a year ago. Net sales rose 0.3% to Rs 1,616 million during the period as against Rs 1,612 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, POKARNA reported 16.0% decrease in net profit to Rs 658 million compared to net profit of Rs 783 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 12.0% to Rs 7,280 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of POKARNA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 25.4.
