POKARNA Gains 8%; BSE METAL Index Up 0.4%

POKARNA share price has zoomed 8% and is presently trading at Rs 829.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 30,889.0 (up 0.4%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE METAL index today are Hindalco (up 1.5%) and Coal India (up 0.9%).

Hindustan Zinc (down 2.0%) and NMDC (down 0.9%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, POKARNA has moved up from Rs 403.3 to Rs 829.0, registering a gain of Rs 425.7 (up 105.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 21,481.0 to 30,889.0, registering a gain of 43.8% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were Coal India (up 125.0%), NMDC (up 87.8%) and Vedanta (up 81.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 78,980.1 .

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Tech Mahindra (up 1.0%) and M&M (up 0.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,146.7 . Hindalco and HCl Tech. are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,401.9 to 78,980.1, registering a gain of 13,578.2 points (up 20.8%).

POKARNA Financial Update...

POKARNA net profit grew 48.7% YoY to Rs 164 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 110 million a year ago. Net sales rose 0.3% to Rs 1,616 million during the period as against Rs 1,612 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, POKARNA reported 16.0% decrease in net profit to Rs 658 million compared to net profit of Rs 783 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 12.0% to Rs 7,280 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of POKARNA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 29.1.
