SJVN Gains 6%; BSE POWER Index Up 0.6%

SJVN share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 144.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 8,208.1 (up 0.6%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are BHEL (up 1.1%) and NTPC (up 1.0%).

KEC INTERNATIONAL (down 0.4%) and ADANI GREEN ENERGY (down 0.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, SJVN has moved up from Rs 57.5 to Rs 144.9, registering a gain of Rs 87.4 (up 151.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,198.7 to 8,208.1, registering a gain of 95.5% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 188.1%), TORRENT POWER (up 168.8%) and ADANI POWER (up 140.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,065.2 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Maruti Suzuki (up 1.1%) and NTPC (up 1.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,184.4 (up 0.2%). Hindalco and Cipla are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,401.9 to 79,065.2, registering a gain of 13,663.3 points (up 20.9%).

SJVN Financial Update...

SJVN net profit grew 30.0% YoY to Rs 3,774 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 2,903 million a year ago. Net sales rose 29.0% to Rs 8,704 million during the period as against Rs 6,748 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, SJVN reported 37.3% increase in net profit to Rs 13,593 million compared to net profit of Rs 9,898 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 21.6% to Rs 29,384 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SJVN, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 56.7.
