Oil India Gains 3%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 1.3%

Oil India share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 688.7.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 31,649.2 (down 1.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are ADANI TOTAL GAS (up 2.5%) and Reliance Ind. (up 0.3%).

GUJARAT GAS (down 3.5%) and BPCL (down 3.4%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Oil India has moved up from Rs 183.6 to Rs 688.7, registering a gain of Rs 505.1 (up 275.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 19,149.7 to 31,649.2, registering a gain of 65.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 107.6%), GAIL (up 92.8%) and ONGC (up 89.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 78,943.5 (down 0.9%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are HDFC Bank (down 3.3%) and Tata Motors (down 2.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Reliance Ind. and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,131.7 (down 0.9%). BPCL and HDFC Bank are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,995.8 to 78,943.5, registering a gain of 12,947.7 points (up 19.6%).

Oil India Financial Update...

Oil India net profit grew 45.2% YoY to Rs 18,925 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 13,038 million a year ago. Net sales rose 45.9% to Rs 93,509 million during the period as against Rs 64,088 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, Oil India reported 46.7% increase in net profit to Rs 98,544 million compared to net profit of Rs 67,192 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 42.9% to Rs 311,558 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Oil India, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 15.8.
