BHEL Gains 4%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Up 2.2%

BHEL share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 298.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 71,700.1 (up 2.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are GMR Infra (up 4.2%) and ABB (up 3.7%).

TIMKEN INDIA (down 2.1%) and Carborundum Universal (down 1.8%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, BHEL has moved up from Rs 96.6 to Rs 298.8, registering a gain of Rs 202.2 (up 209.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 43,182.8 to 71,700.1, registering a gain of 66.0% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 209.4%), HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 147.4%) and Bharat Electronics (up 130.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,470.0 (up 1.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (up 3.0%) and JSW Steel (up 2.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,292.1 (up 1.3%). ONGC and Coal India are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,953.5 to 79,470.0, registering a gain of 13,516.5 points (up 20.5%).

BHEL Financial Update...

BHEL net profit fell 2.2% YoY to Rs -2,256 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a loss of Rs 2,208 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.6% to Rs 54,849 million during the period as against Rs 50,034 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, BHEL reported 56.9% decrease in net profit to Rs 2,822 million compared to net profit of Rs 6,541 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 1.6% to Rs 201,068 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of BHEL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at -609.3.
