POKARNA Gains 2%; BSE METAL Index Down 4.8%

POKARNA share price has zoomed 2% and is presently trading at Rs 784.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 30,382.0 (down 4.8%).

SAIL (down 6.5%) and Hindustan Zinc (down 5.5%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, POKARNA has moved up from Rs 408.2 to Rs 784.8, registering a gain of Rs 376.6 (up 92.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 22,347.9 to 30,382.0, registering a gain of 36.0% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were Coal India (up 109.0%), NMDC (up 92.4%) and Hindustan Zinc (up 91.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 78,626.9 (down 2.9%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (down 6.0%) and MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (down 5.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,990.5 (down 2.9%). Tata Motors and ONGC are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,459.3 to 78,626.9, registering a gain of 12,167.5 points (up 18.3%).

POKARNA Financial Update...

POKARNA net profit grew 48.7% YoY to Rs 164 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 110 million a year ago. Net sales rose 0.3% to Rs 1,616 million during the period as against Rs 1,612 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, POKARNA reported 16.0% decrease in net profit to Rs 658 million compared to net profit of Rs 783 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 12.0% to Rs 7,280 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of POKARNA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 27.6.
