Reliance Infra Plunges 7%; BSE POWER Index Down 4.4%

Reliance Infra share price has plunged 7% and is presently trading at Rs 198.6.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 8,097.1 (down 4.4%).

Among the top losers in the BSE POWER index today are KEC INTERNATIONAL (down 7.1%) and ADANI ENERGY SOLUTIONS (down 7.0%).

Over the last one year, Reliance Infra has moved up from Rs 183.8 to Rs 198.6, registering a gain of Rs 14.9 (up 8.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,365.8 to 8,097.1, registering a gain of 85.5% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 173.1%), TORRENT POWER (up 159.9%) and ADANI POWER (up 155.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 78,390.2 (down 3.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (down 6.8%) and Tata Steel (down 5.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,006.5 (down 2.9%). Tata Motors and ONGC are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,459.3 to 78,390.2, registering a gain of 11,930.9 points (up 18.0%).

Reliance Infra Financial Update...

Reliance Infra net profit grew 99.8% YoY to Rs -54 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a loss of Rs 25,642 million a year ago. Net sales rose 11.9% to Rs 46,860 million during the period as against Rs 41,863 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Reliance Infra reported 73.9% increase in net profit to Rs -6,456 million compared to net loss of Rs 24,730 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 6.4% to Rs 228,046 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Reliance Infra, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at -12.2.
