HINDUSTAN COPPER share price has plunged 7% and is presently trading at Rs 291.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 30,307.2 (down 5.0%).

Among the top losers in the BSE METAL index today are SAIL (down 6.8%) and Hindustan Zinc (down 5.9%).

Over the last one year, HINDUSTAN COPPER has moved up from Rs 150.4 to Rs 291.8, registering a gain of Rs 141.4 (up 94.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 22,347.9 to 30,307.2, registering a gain of 35.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were Coal India (up 108.6%), NMDC (up 91.7%) and Hindustan Zinc (up 90.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 78,523.1 (down 3.0%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (down 6.4%) and Tata Steel (down 5.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,914.3 (down 3.3%). Tata Motors and ONGC are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,459.3 to 78,523.1, registering a gain of 12,063.8 points (up 18.2%).

HINDUSTAN COPPER Financial Update...

HINDUSTAN COPPER net profit fell 5.6% YoY to Rs 1,248 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,322 million a year ago. Net sales rose 1.0% to Rs 5,654 million during the period as against Rs 5,598 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, HINDUSTAN COPPER reported 21.1% decrease in net profit to Rs 2,953 million compared to net profit of Rs 3,741 million during FY22. Revenue of the company fell 7.9% to Rs 16,773 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HINDUSTAN COPPER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 95.4.
