Castrol Gains 4%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 0.8%

Castrol share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 265.2.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 32,504.5 (down 0.8%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today is HPCL (up 1.0%).

ONGC (down 1.7%) and IOC (down 1.4%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Castrol has moved up from Rs 144.9 to Rs 265.2, registering a gain of Rs 120.3 (up 83.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 19,424.1 to 32,504.5, registering a gain of 67.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 109.9%), GAIL (up 100.4%) and ONGC (up 89.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,204.2 (down 0.8%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (down 3.9%) and Maruti Suzuki (down 3.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,803.7 (down 0.8%). Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,527.7 to 81,204.2, registering a gain of 14,676.5 points (up 22.1%).

Castrol Financial Update...

Castrol net profit grew 3.1% YoY to Rs 2,322 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 2,253 million a year ago. Net sales rose 4.8% to Rs 13,975 million during the period as against Rs 13,338 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended December 2023, Castrol reported 6.0% increase in net profit to Rs 8,641 million compared to net profit of Rs 8,152 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 6.3% to Rs 50,746 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Castrol, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 29.6.
