Camlin Gains 5%; BSE FMCG Index Down 0.4%

Camlin share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 191.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG index is at 22,431.2 (down 0.4%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE FMCG index today are Tata Coffee (up 3.6%) and HATSUN AGRO PRODUCTS (up 3.1%).

Emami (down 4.6%) and Ruchi Soya Industries (down 1.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Camlin has moved up from Rs 153.5 to Rs 191.9, registering a gain of Rs 38.4 (up 25.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE FMCG index has moved up from 18,986.4 to 22,431.2, registering a gain of 18.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG index stocks during this same period were Godfrey Phillips (up 99.1%), BOM.BURMAH (up 99.0%) and AVANTI FEEDS (up 72.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,073.0 (down 1.0%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (down 3.8%) and Maruti Suzuki (down 3.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,803.7 (down 0.8%). Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,527.7 to 81,073.0, registering a gain of 14,545.3 points (up 21.9%).

Camlin Financial Update...

Camlin net profit grew 18.9% YoY to Rs 104 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 88 million a year ago. Net sales rose 0.5% to Rs 2,172 million during the period as against Rs 2,162 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Camlin reported 79.3% increase in net profit to Rs 438 million compared to net profit of Rs 244 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 5.3% to Rs 8,159 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Camlin, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 43.9.
