HCC Plunges 5%; BSE REALTY Index Down 1.7%

HCC share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 53.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE REALTY index is at 8,397.2 (down 1.7%).

Among the top losers in the BSE REALTY index today are PRESTIGE ESTATES (down 3.3%) and Godrej Properties (down 2.7%).

MAHINDRA LIFESPACE (up 0.4%) is among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, HCC has moved up from Rs 18.6 to Rs 53.1, registering a gain of Rs 34.5 (up 185.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE REALTY index has moved up from 4,536.1 to 8,397.2, registering a gain of 85.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE REALTY index stocks during this same period were PRESTIGE ESTATES (up 198.6%), Sobha (up 195.4%) and Brigade Enterprises (up 112.0%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,867.6 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Power Grid Corp. (up 3.8%) and HDFC Bank (up 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Power Grid Corp..

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,006.0 (up 0.2%). Power Grid Corp. and Coal India are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,527.7 to 81,867.6, registering a gain of 15,339.9 points (up 23.1%).

HCC Financial Update...

HCC net profit grew 14.3% YoY to Rs 2,274 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,990 million a year ago. Net sales declined 26.9% to Rs 17,731 million during the period as against Rs 24,263 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, HCC reported 104.7% decrease in net profit to Rs -266 million compared to net profit of Rs 5,717 million during FY22. Revenue of the company fell 7.6% to Rs 98,566 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HCC, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 17.9.
