Camlin Gains 7%; BSE FMCG Index Up 0.1%

Camlin share price has zoomed 7% and is presently trading at Rs 181.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE FMCG index is at 22,438.7 (up 0.1%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE FMCG index today are CCL PRODUCTS (up 4.3%) and Tata Coffee (up 3.6%).

Tata Consumer Products (down 1.6%) and Marico (down 1.1%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Camlin has moved up from Rs 153.5 to Rs 181.5, registering a gain of Rs 28.0 (up 18.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE FMCG index has moved up from 18,986.4 to 22,438.7, registering a gain of 18.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE FMCG index stocks during this same period were BOM.BURMAH (up 103.5%), Godfrey Phillips (up 96.3%) and GODREJ AGROVET (up 75.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,731.4 (up 0.3%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Asian Paints (up 2.5%) and NTPC (up 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,937.8 (up 0.3%). Asian Paints and NTPC are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,527.7 to 81,731.4, registering a gain of 15,203.7 points (up 22.9%).

Camlin Financial Update...

Camlin net profit grew 18.9% YoY to Rs 104 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 88 million a year ago. Net sales rose 0.5% to Rs 2,172 million during the period as against Rs 2,162 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Camlin reported 79.3% increase in net profit to Rs 438 million compared to net profit of Rs 244 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 5.3% to Rs 8,159 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Camlin, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 41.5.
