Wipro Gains 3%; BSE IT Index Up 0.7%

Wipro share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 491.4.

Meanwhile, the BSE IT index is at 35,745.1 (up 0.7%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE IT index today are Oracle Financial Services (up 2.7%) and LTIMINDTREE (up 1.4%).

INTELLECT DESIGN (down 1.2%) and ROUTE MOBILE (down 0.8%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Wipro has moved up from Rs 395.7 to Rs 491.4, registering a gain of Rs 95.8 (up 24.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE IT index has moved up from 29,222.8 to 35,745.1, registering a gain of 22.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE IT index stocks during this same period were Oracle Financial Services (up 157.3%), INFIBEAM AVENUES (up 107.6%) and Birlasoft (up 102.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 77,237.0 (up 0.3%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Titan (up 2.6%) and M&M (up 1.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,548.1 (up 0.4%). Titan and M&M are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,143.2 to 77,237.0, registering a gain of 14,093.8 points (up 22.3%).

Wipro Financial Update...

Wipro net profit fell 6.9% YoY to Rs 28,784 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 30,931 million a year ago. Net sales declined 4.2% to Rs 222,083 million during the period as against Rs 231,903 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, Wipro reported 7.2% decrease in net profit to Rs 113,665 million compared to net profit of Rs 122,434 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 14.1% to Rs 904,876 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Wipro, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 23.1.
