Voltas Plunges 3%; BSE CONSUMER DURABLES Index Down 1.9%

Voltas share price has plunged 3% and is presently trading at Rs 1,492.6.

Meanwhile, the BSE CONSUMER DURABLES index is at 59,093.2 (down 1.9%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CONSUMER DURABLES index today are Titan (down 3.2%) and VAIBHAV GEMS (down 1.7%).

RAJESH EXPORTS (up 0.7%) and ORIENT ELECTRIC (up 0.2%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Voltas has moved up from Rs 815.6 to Rs 1,492.6, registering a gain of Rs 677.0 (up 83.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE CONSUMER DURABLES index has moved up from 42,410.0 to 59,093.2, registering a gain of 39.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CONSUMER DURABLES index stocks during this same period were DIXON TECHNOLOGIES (up 161.1%), Blue Star (up 123.6%) and AMBER ENTERPRISES INDIA (up 87.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 77,356.3 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are HDFC Bank (up 2.5%) and Axis Bank (up 2.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and HDFC Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,526.1 (down 0.1%). Titan and L&T are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,228.5 to 77,356.3, registering a gain of 14,127.8 points (up 22.3%).

Voltas Financial Update...

Voltas net profit fell 13.1% YoY to Rs 1,490 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,714 million a year ago. Net sales rose 42.1% to Rs 42,029 million during the period as against Rs 29,568 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Voltas reported 82.1% increase in net profit to Rs 2,481 million compared to net profit of Rs 1,362 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 31.4% to Rs 124,812 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Voltas, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 127.7.
