VA TECH WABAG Gains 5%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Up 0.8%

VA TECH WABAG share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 1,354.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 71,782.5 (up 0.8%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are SCHAEFFLER INDIA (up 4.3%) and TIMKEN INDIA (up 2.9%).

Lakshmi Machine (down 1.2%) and Thermax (down 0.8%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, VA TECH WABAG has moved up from Rs 510.2 to Rs 1,354.8, registering a gain of Rs 844.7 (up 165.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 42,734.2 to 71,782.5, registering a gain of 68.0% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 215.8%), HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 154.2%) and Bharat Electronics (up 141.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,217.5 (down 0.3%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Hindustan Unilever (down 3.0%) and Bajaj Finance (down 2.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ITC and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,409.1 (down 0.3%). Hindustan Unilever and Tata Consumer Products are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,384.8 to 80,217.5, registering a gain of 13,832.7 points (up 20.8%).

VA TECH WABAG Financial Update...

VA TECH WABAG net profit grew 167.1% YoY to Rs 776 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a loss of Rs 1,157 million a year ago. Net sales rose 0.8% to Rs 9,342 million during the period as against Rs 9,269 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, VA TECH WABAG reported 91.7% decrease in net profit to Rs 109 million compared to net profit of Rs 1,321 million during FY22. Revenue of the company fell 0.6% to Rs 29,605 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of VA TECH WABAG, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 32.4.
