TVS Motors Plunges 4%; BSE AUTO Index Down 1.8%

TVS Motors share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 2,410.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO index is at 53,312.4 (down 1.8%).

Among the top losers in the BSE AUTO index today are Hero Motocorp (down 5.7%) and Bajaj Auto (down 5.5%).

M&M (up 2.3%) is among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, TVS Motors has moved up from Rs 1,590.8 to Rs 2,410.1, registering a gain of Rs 819.3 (up 51.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO index has moved up from 36,172.0 to 53,312.4, registering a gain of 47.4% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO index stocks during this same period were Cummins India (up 107.3%), Motherson Sumi (up 99.4%) and M&M (up 96.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 78,505.4 (down 1.7%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Bajaj Finserv (down 4.0%) and MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (down 3.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ICICI Bank and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,897.6 (down 1.7%). Hero Motocorp and Bajaj Auto are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,874.9 to 78,505.4, registering a gain of 14,630.5 points (up 22.9%).

TVS Motors Financial Update...

TVS Motors net profit grew 42.3% YoY to Rs 6,070 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 4,266 million a year ago. Net sales rose 13.8% to Rs 113,017 million during the period as against Rs 99,328 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, TVS Motors reported 35.8% increase in net profit to Rs 17,785 million compared to net profit of Rs 13,095 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 22.4% to Rs 391,447 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TVS Motors, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 55.8.
