TORRENT POWER share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 1,842.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 7,818.5 (up 1.0%).

Among the top losers in the BSE POWER index today are ABB (down 1.2%) and Thermax (down 0.1%).

ADANI ENERGY SOLUTIONS (up 3.7%) and BHEL (up 2.1%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, TORRENT POWER has moved up from Rs 707.0 to Rs 1,842.9, registering a gain of Rs 1,136.0 (up 160.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,304.4 to 7,818.5, registering a gain of 81.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were TORRENT POWER (up 160.7%), Siemens (up 99.4%) and ADANI POWER (up 93.0%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,272.1 (up 1.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are ICICI Bank (up 3.8%) and MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (up 3.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are HDFC Bank and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,416.3 (up 1.0%). Shriram Transport and Adani Enterprises are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,049.1 to 80,272.1, registering a gain of 16,223.1 points (up 25.3%).

TORRENT POWER Financial Update...

TORRENT POWER net profit grew 87.2% YoY to Rs 9,963 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 5,323 million a year ago. Net sales rose 23.3% to Rs 90,337 million during the period as against Rs 73,276 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, TORRENT POWER reported 12.4% decrease in net profit to Rs 18,960 million compared to net profit of Rs 21,647 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 5.8% to Rs 271,832 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of TORRENT POWER, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 37.5.
