SAIL Gains 4%; BSE METAL Index Up 2.0%

SAIL share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 133.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 32,827.2 (up 2.0%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE METAL index today are NMDC (up 3.7%) and Vedanta (up 3.3%).

Over the last one year, SAIL has moved up from Rs 95.3 to Rs 133.8, registering a gain of Rs 38.5 (up 40.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 22,980.9 to 32,827.2, registering a gain of 42.8% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were Vedanta (up 101.9%), Coal India (up 76.7%) and Hindustan Zinc (up 61.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 84,968.1 .

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Steel (up 3.0%) and Power Grid Corp. (up 1.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,947.8 . Tata Steel and Hindalco are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,800.8 to 84,968.1, registering a gain of 18,167.3 points (up 27.2%).

SAIL Financial Update...

SAIL net profit fell 116.7% YoY to Rs -249 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,491 million a year ago. Net sales declined 1.5% to Rs 239,978 million during the period as against Rs 243,591 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, SAIL reported 40.9% increase in net profit to Rs 30,667 million compared to net profit of Rs 21,765 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 0.9% to Rs 1,053,783 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SAIL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 22.5.
