SAIL Gains 4%; BSE METAL Index Up 1.3%

SAIL share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 123.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 32,109.6 (up 1.3%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE METAL index today are NMDC (up 2.5%) and APOLLO TUBES (up 2.0%).

Hindustan Zinc (down 8.2%) and Coal India are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, SAIL has moved up from Rs 86.8 to Rs 123.8, registering a gain of Rs 37.0 (up 42.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 22,728.7 to 32,109.6, registering a gain of 41.3% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were Vedanta (up 103.3%), Hindustan Zinc (up 73.4%) and Jindal Steel (up 52.6%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,366.2 (up 1.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are TCS (up 4.1%) and Infosys (up 3.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ITC and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,481.9 (up 1.1%). Bharat Electronics and Adani Enterprises are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,958.7 to 80,366.2, registering a gain of 15,407.5 points (up 23.7%).

SAIL Financial Update...

SAIL net profit fell 116.7% YoY to Rs -249 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,491 million a year ago. Net sales declined 1.5% to Rs 239,978 million during the period as against Rs 243,591 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, SAIL reported 40.9% increase in net profit to Rs 30,667 million compared to net profit of Rs 21,765 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 0.9% to Rs 1,053,783 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of SAIL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 20.8.
