Reliance Ind. Plunges 3%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 2.5%

Reliance Ind. share price has plunged 3% and is presently trading at Rs 2,831.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 30,810.4 (down 2.5%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are HPCL (down 6.9%) and BPCL (down 5.1%).

Petronet LNG (up 5.6%) is among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Reliance Ind. has moved up from Rs 2,318.3 to Rs 2,831.1, registering a gain of Rs 512.8 (up 22.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,778.0 to 30,810.4, registering a gain of 64.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 144.1%), BPCL (up 104.8%) and GAIL (up 92.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 82,557.8 (down 2.0%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Asian Paints (down 4.4%) and L&T (down 4.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are HDFC Bank and Reliance Ind..

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,255.2 (down 2.1%). BPCL and IOC are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,512.1 to 82,557.8, registering a gain of 17,045.7 points (up 26.0%).

Reliance Ind. Financial Update...

Reliance Ind. net profit fell 4.0% YoY to Rs 174,480 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 181,820 million a year ago. Net sales rose 12.0% to Rs 2,362,170 million during the period as against Rs 2,108,310 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Reliance Ind. reported 7.3% increase in net profit to Rs 790,200 million compared to net profit of Rs 736,700 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 2.7% to Rs 8,020,060 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Reliance Ind., based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 24.6.
