Praj Industries Plunges 3%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 0.3%

Praj Industries share price has plunged 3% and is presently trading at Rs 712.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 68,582.2 (down 0.3%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are AIA Engineering (down 2.5%) and Thermax (down 2.4%).

Graphite India (up 0.7%) and L&T (up 0.6%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Praj Industries has moved up from Rs 579.8 to Rs 712.9, registering a gain of Rs 133.1 (up 23.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 47,570.0 to 68,582.2, registering a gain of 44.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 117.3%), BHEL (up 100.6%) and Siemens (up 99.1%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,134.6 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Ultratech Cement (up 1.2%) and Hindustan Unilever (up 1.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,810.0 (up 0.1%). M&M and Hindustan Unilever are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,226.0 to 81,134.6, registering a gain of 15,908.6 points (up 24.4%).

Praj Industries Financial Update...

Praj Industries net profit grew 43.5% YoY to Rs 842 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 587 million a year ago. Net sales declined 5.1% to Rs 6,991 million during the period as against Rs 7,367 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Praj Industries reported 18.2% increase in net profit to Rs 2,834 million compared to net profit of Rs 2,398 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 5.3% to Rs 33,914 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Praj Industries, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 42.4.
