Praj Industries Gains 9%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Up 1.9%

Praj Industries share price has zoomed 9% and is presently trading at Rs 731.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 67,090.0 (up 1.9%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are GMR Infra (up 3.4%) and HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 3.3%).

Carborundum Universal (down 2.2%) and Lakshmi Machine (down 0.3%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Praj Industries has moved up from Rs 591.2 to Rs 731.5, registering a gain of Rs 140.3 (up 23.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 48,904.9 to 67,090.0, registering a gain of 37.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were Bharat Electronics (up 95.9%), HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 91.7%) and Siemens (up 90.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 78,295.2 (up 1.5%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are SBI (up 3.8%) and MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (up 2.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Power Grid Corp. and MUNDRA PORT & SEZ.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,729.7 (up 1.6%). SBI and Tata Consumer Products are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,655.2 to 78,295.2, registering a gain of 12,640.1 points (up 19.3%).

Praj Industries Financial Update...

Praj Industries net profit fell 13.7% YoY to Rs 538 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 624 million a year ago. Net sales declined 7.5% to Rs 8,162 million during the period as against Rs 8,824 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Praj Industries reported 18.2% increase in net profit to Rs 2,834 million compared to net profit of Rs 2,398 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 5.3% to Rs 33,914 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Praj Industries, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 44.8.
