Power Grid Corp. Gains 4%; BSE POWER Index Up 2.2%

Power Grid Corp. share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 356.2.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 8,380.2 (up 2.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are NTPC (up 4.3%) and INDIAN ENERGY EXCHANGE (up 1.6%).

ABB (down 0.5%) and Siemens (down 0.4%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Power Grid Corp. has moved up from Rs 188.3 to Rs 356.2, registering a gain of Rs 168.0 (up 89.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,186.3 to 8,380.2, registering a gain of 100.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 221.2%), ADANI POWER (up 184.6%) and TORRENT POWER (up 153.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,407.3 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are NTPC (up 4.3%) and Tata Motors (up 2.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Power Grid Corp. and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,883.3 (up 0.2%). NTPC and BPCL are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,707.2 to 81,407.3, registering a gain of 14,700.1 points (up 22.0%).

Power Grid Corp. Financial Update...

Power Grid Corp. net profit fell 4.8% YoY to Rs 37,572 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 39,480 million a year ago. Net sales declined 0.4% to Rs 110,062 million during the period as against Rs 110,481 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, Power Grid Corp. reported 8.4% decrease in net profit to Rs 154,171 million compared to net profit of Rs 168,241 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 9.5% to Rs 455,813 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Power Grid Corp., based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 20.7.
