Power Grid Corp. Gains 3%; BSE POWER Index Up 2.1%

Power Grid Corp. share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 352.2.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 8,257.3 (up 2.1%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are BHEL (up 6.2%) and ABB (up 5.6%).

Tata Power (down 1.5%) and Thermax (down 1.2%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Power Grid Corp. has moved up from Rs 186.0 to Rs 352.2, registering a gain of Rs 166.2 (up 89.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,239.8 to 8,257.3, registering a gain of 94.8% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 216.2%), TORRENT POWER (up 168.9%) and ADANI POWER (up 151.7%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,513.0 (up 1.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (up 3.6%) and JSW Steel (up 2.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,305.7 (up 1.3%). ONGC and Coal India are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,953.5 to 79,513.0, registering a gain of 13,559.5 points (up 20.6%).

Power Grid Corp. Financial Update...

Power Grid Corp. net profit fell 4.8% YoY to Rs 37,572 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 39,480 million a year ago. Net sales declined 0.4% to Rs 110,062 million during the period as against Rs 110,481 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Power Grid Corp. reported 1.0% increase in net profit to Rs 155,732 million compared to net profit of Rs 154,197 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 0.5% to Rs 458,431 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Power Grid Corp., based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 20.5.
