PTC India Plunges 7%; BSE POWER Index Down 4.2%

PTC India share price has plunged 7% and is presently trading at Rs 202.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 8,113.0 (down 4.2%).

Among the top losers in the BSE POWER index today are KEC INTERNATIONAL (down 7.5%) and ADANI ENERGY SOLUTIONS (down 6.7%).

Over the last one year, PTC India has moved up from Rs 121.1 to Rs 202.5, registering a gain of Rs 81.4 (up 67.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,365.8 to 8,113.0, registering a gain of 85.8% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 172.8%), TORRENT POWER (up 159.5%) and ADANI POWER (up 155.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 78,577.0 (down 3.0%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (down 6.9%) and Tata Steel (down 5.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,006.5 (down 2.9%). Tata Motors and ONGC are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,459.3 to 78,577.0, registering a gain of 12,117.7 points (up 18.2%).

PTC India Financial Update...

PTC India net profit fell 32.0% YoY to Rs 950 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,397 million a year ago. Net sales declined 1.8% to Rs 35,074 million during the period as against Rs 35,733 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, PTC India reported 8.1% decrease in net profit to Rs 5,072 million compared to net profit of Rs 5,517 million during FY22. Revenue of the company fell 5.3% to Rs 159,706 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of PTC India, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 11.2.
