PTC India Plunges 10%; BSE POWER Index Down 0.5%

PTC India share price has plunged 10% and is presently trading at Rs 213.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 8,297.6 (down 0.5%).

Among the top losers in the BSE POWER index today are TORRENT POWER (down 5.1%) and ABB (down 4.4%).

NTPC (up 2.8%) and ADANI ENERGY SOLUTIONS (up 0.3%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, PTC India has moved up from Rs 150.0 to Rs 213.0, registering a gain of Rs 63.0 (up 42.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,664.3 to 8,297.6, registering a gain of 77.9% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were TORRENT POWER (up 154.0%), BHEL (up 101.3%) and ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 94.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 83,190.5 (up 0.3%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are NTPC (up 2.8%) and Nestle (up 2.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are NTPC and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,424.1 (up 0.2%). NTPC and Nestle are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 67,596.8 to 83,190.5, registering a gain of 15,593.6 points (up 23.1%).

PTC India Financial Update...

PTC India net profit grew 20.1% YoY to Rs 1,494 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 1,244 million a year ago. Net sales declined 1.5% to Rs 46,856 million during the period as against Rs 47,583 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, PTC India reported 8.1% decrease in net profit to Rs 5,072 million compared to net profit of Rs 5,517 million during FY22. Revenue of the company fell 5.3% to Rs 159,706 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of PTC India, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 11.6.
