POKARNA Plunges 6%; BSE METAL Index Up 1.0%

POKARNA share price has plunged 6% and is presently trading at Rs 1,038.4.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 34,234.0 (up 1.0%).

Among the top losers in the BSE METAL index today are Jindal Steel (down 1.0%) and JSW Steel (down 0.4%).

Hindalco (up 2.2%) and Vedanta (up 1.7%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, POKARNA has moved up from Rs 467.7 to Rs 1,038.4, registering a gain of Rs 570.7 (up 122.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 22,741.0 to 34,234.0, registering a gain of 50.5% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were Vedanta (up 127.1%), Coal India (up 78.4%) and Hindustan Zinc (up 65.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 85,614.0 (down 0.3%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Power Grid Corp. (down 2.9%) and Bharti Airtel (down 2.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 26,201.9 (down 0.1%). Power Grid Corp. and Bharti Airtel are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,023.7 to 85,614.0, registering a gain of 19,590.3 points (up 29.7%).

POKARNA Financial Update...

POKARNA net profit grew 77.6% YoY to Rs 330 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 186 million a year ago. Net sales rose 19.0% to Rs 1,926 million during the period as against Rs 1,618 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, POKARNA reported 34.2% increase in net profit to Rs 914 million compared to net profit of Rs 681 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 5.2% to Rs 6,876 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of POKARNA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 31.1.
