POKARNA Gains 6%; BSE METAL Index Up 0.6%

POKARNA share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 1,049.4.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 31,548.5 (up 0.6%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE METAL index today are Hindustan Zinc (up 2.1%) and Jindal Steel (up 1.6%).

APOLLO TUBES (down 2.4%) is among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, POKARNA has moved up from Rs 497.4 to Rs 1,049.4, registering a gain of Rs 552.0 (up 111.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 22,292.0 to 31,548.5, registering a gain of 41.5% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were Vedanta (up 118.1%), Hindustan Zinc (up 91.8%) and Hindalco (up 52.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,256.3 (down 0.1%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are ICICI Bank (down 1.7%) and Axis Bank (down 1.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Power Grid Corp. and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,437.3 (down 0.1%). Cipla and SBI LIFE INSURANCE are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,112.7 to 80,256.3, registering a gain of 16,143.6 points (up 25.2%).

POKARNA Financial Update...

POKARNA net profit grew 77.6% YoY to Rs 330 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 186 million a year ago. Net sales rose 19.0% to Rs 1,926 million during the period as against Rs 1,618 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, POKARNA reported 34.2% increase in net profit to Rs 914 million compared to net profit of Rs 681 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 5.2% to Rs 6,876 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of POKARNA, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 31.5.
