Oil India share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 591.2.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 31,617.7 (down 0.3%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are Petronet LNG (down 1.8%) and GAIL (down 1.7%).

ONGC (up 1.9%) and Indraprastha Gas (up 0.2%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Oil India has moved up from Rs 170.2 to Rs 591.2, registering a gain of Rs 421.0 (up 247.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 19,137.2 to 31,617.7, registering a gain of 65.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were GAIL (up 111.2%), ONGC (up 97.6%) and HPCL (up 82.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,747.6 .

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are TCS (up 2.1%) and Hindustan Unilever (up 1.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,593.6 (down 0.1%). Bajaj Auto and Coal India are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,589.9 to 80,747.6, registering a gain of 14,157.6 points (up 21.3%).

Oil India Financial Update...

Oil India net profit fell 9.5% YoY to Rs 19,738 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 21,807 million a year ago. Net sales rose 15.9% to Rs 101,658 million during the period as against Rs 87,677 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, Oil India reported 46.7% increase in net profit to Rs 98,544 million compared to net profit of Rs 67,192 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 42.9% to Rs 311,558 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Oil India, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 14.7.
