Oil India Gains 6%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 0.8%

Oil India share price has zoomed 6% and is presently trading at Rs 645.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 31,777.8 (up 0.8%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are ONGC (up 2.3%) and Reliance Ind. (up 1.8%).

HPCL (down 3.1%) and GUJARAT GAS (down 2.1%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Oil India has moved up from Rs 181.6 to Rs 645.0, registering a gain of Rs 463.4 (up 255.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,945.7 to 31,777.8, registering a gain of 67.7% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 111.0%), GAIL (up 99.3%) and ONGC (up 90.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,712.1 (up 1.0%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (up 2.9%) and JSW Steel (up 2.8%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,371.1 (up 1.1%). Eicher Motor and Grasim Industries are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,953.5 to 79,712.1, registering a gain of 13,758.6 points (up 20.9%).

Oil India Financial Update...

Oil India net profit grew 45.2% YoY to Rs 18,925 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 13,038 million a year ago. Net sales rose 45.9% to Rs 93,509 million during the period as against Rs 64,088 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, Oil India reported 46.7% increase in net profit to Rs 98,544 million compared to net profit of Rs 67,192 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 42.9% to Rs 311,558 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Oil India, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 14.8.
