NLC India Gains 5%; BSE POWER Index Up 0.5%

NLC India share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 275.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 8,136.5 (up 0.5%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are NHPC (up 2.7%) and TORRENT POWER (up 1.9%).

INDIAN ENERGY EXCHANGE (down 3.9%) and KEC INTERNATIONAL (down 3.4%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, NLC India has moved up from Rs 109.3 to Rs 275.5, registering a gain of Rs 166.3 (up 152.2%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,013.9 to 8,136.5, registering a gain of 102.7% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 259.6%), ADANI POWER (up 200.1%) and TORRENT POWER (up 149.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,924.8 (down 0.5%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are M&M (down 6.7%) and Tata Steel (down 2.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and ITC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,312.4 (down 0.5%). M&M and Hindalco are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,344.2 to 79,924.8, registering a gain of 14,580.6 points (up 22.3%).

NLC India Financial Update...

NLC India net profit fell 86.4% YoY to Rs 1,138 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 8,366 million a year ago. Net sales declined 31.0% to Rs 35,406 million during the period as against Rs 51,340 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, NLC India reported 27.8% increase in net profit to Rs 14,251 million compared to net profit of Rs 11,151 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 35.3% to Rs 161,652 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of NLC India, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 20.5.
