NELCO Plunges 5%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 1.6%

NELCO share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 908.7.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 69,675.6 (down 1.6%).

Among the top losers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are BHEL (down 3.2%) and HINDUSTAN AERO. (down 2.5%).

Over the last one year, NELCO has moved up from Rs 767.7 to Rs 908.7, registering a gain of Rs 141.0 (up 18.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 47,715.6 to 69,675.6, registering a gain of 46.0% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 124.3%), Siemens (up 111.2%) and Bharat Electronics (up 102.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,997.7 (down 0.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (down 1.9%) and Maruti Suzuki (down 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,713.8 (down 0.3%). Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,877.0 to 80,997.7, registering a gain of 15,120.7 points (up 23.0%).

NELCO Financial Update...

NELCO net profit fell 32.5% YoY to Rs 38 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 57 million a year ago. Net sales rose 7.7% to Rs 826 million during the period as against Rs 767 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, NELCO reported 19.2% increase in net profit to Rs 237 million compared to net profit of Rs 199 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 2.2% to Rs 3,203 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of NELCO, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 102.9.
