NELCO Gains 16%; BSE CAPITAL GOODS Index Down 0.5%

NELCO share price has zoomed 16% and is presently trading at Rs 1,210.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index is at 70,369.1 (down 0.5%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index today are ADANI GREEN ENERGY (up 1.1%) and TIMKEN INDIA (up 0.7%).

Carborundum Universal (down 1.3%) and L&T (down 1.3%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, NELCO has moved up from Rs 757.7 to Rs 1,210.5, registering a gain of Rs 452.9 (up 59.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index has moved up from 48,868.6 to 70,369.1, registering a gain of 44.0% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE CAPITAL GOODS index stocks during this same period were Bharat Electronics (up 115.7%), Siemens (up 108.9%) and HINDUSTAN AERO. (up 95.3%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,710.9 (down 0.1%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Indusind Bank (down 1.5%) and L&T (down 1.3%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Kotak Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,112.7 (down 0.1%). HDFC LIFE INSURANCE and Indusind Bank are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,174.2 to 79,710.9, registering a gain of 13,536.7 points (up 20.5%).

NELCO Financial Update...

NELCO net profit fell 32.5% YoY to Rs 38 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 57 million a year ago. Net sales rose 7.7% to Rs 826 million during the period as against Rs 767 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, NELCO reported 19.2% increase in net profit to Rs 237 million compared to net profit of Rs 199 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 2.2% to Rs 3,203 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of NELCO, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 137.1.
