Maruti Suzuki Gains 4%; BSE AUTO Index Up 0.5%

Maruti Suzuki share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 13,247.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO index is at 60,881.3 (up 0.5%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE AUTO index today are Tata Motors (up 2.2%) and Eicher Motor (up 1.1%).

Hero Motocorp (down 1.9%) and Escorts (down 1.5%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, Maruti Suzuki has moved up from Rs 10,586.3 to Rs 13,247.5, registering a gain of Rs 2,661.3 (up 25.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO index has moved up from 36,764.0 to 60,881.3, registering a gain of 65.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO index stocks during this same period were Bajaj Auto (up 150.4%), Cummins India (up 116.9%) and Motherson Sumi (up 113.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 85,407.9 (up 0.3%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (up 2.2%) and Bajaj Finserv (up 1.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Power Grid Corp..

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 26,073.4 (up 0.3%). Tata Motors and Tata Steel are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,023.7 to 85,407.9, registering a gain of 19,384.2 points (up 29.4%).

Maruti Suzuki Financial Update...

Maruti Suzuki net profit grew 49.2% YoY to Rs 37,021 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 24,807 million a year ago. Net sales rose 10.0% to Rs 357,794 million during the period as against Rs 325,348 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Maruti Suzuki reported 63.2% increase in net profit to Rs 134,882 million compared to net profit of Rs 82,637 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 19.8% to Rs 1,418,582 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Maruti Suzuki, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 28.9.
