MRPL Gains 8%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 0.2%

MRPL share price has zoomed 8% and is presently trading at Rs 238.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 30,512.5 (up 0.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are ADANI TOTAL GAS (up 2.6%) and IOC (up 1.0%).

Indraprastha Gas (down 0.8%) and ONGC (down 0.7%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, MRPL has moved up from Rs 88.9 to Rs 238.0, registering a gain of Rs 149.1 (up 167.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,695.0 to 30,512.5, registering a gain of 63.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were GAIL (up 116.3%), ONGC (up 82.7%) and IOC (up 80.0%).

The BSE Sensex is at 80,120.6 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Maruti Suzuki (up 4.4%) and MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (up 1.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and ITC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,362.4 (up 0.2%). Maruti Suzuki and MUNDRA PORT & SEZ are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,446.0 to 80,120.6, registering a gain of 14,674.6 points (up 22.4%).

MRPL Financial Update...

MRPL net profit fell 40.4% YoY to Rs 11,368 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 19,080 million a year ago. Net sales declined 0.7% to Rs 291,901 million during the period as against Rs 294,015 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, MRPL reported 10.2% decrease in net profit to Rs 26,554 million compared to net profit of Rs 29,583 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 74.0% to Rs 929,762 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MRPL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 11.6.
