MRPL Gains 7%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 0.5%

MRPL share price has zoomed 7% and is presently trading at Rs 153.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 25,370.6 (up 0.5%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are Indraprastha Gas (up 1.0%) and ONGC (up 0.9%).

ADANI TOTAL GAS (down 1.8%) is among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, MRPL has moved up from Rs 115.6 to Rs 153.9, registering a gain of Rs 38.3 (up 33.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 19,430.7 to 25,370.6, registering a gain of 30.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 76.7%), Petronet LNG (up 65.8%) and GAIL (up 51.5%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 77,501.4 (up 0.4%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are ICICI Bank (up 1.7%) and SBI (up 1.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are MUNDRA PORT & SEZ and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,439.1 (up 0.4%). APOLLO HOSPITALS and ICICI Bank are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,655.2 to 77,501.4, registering a gain of 11,846.3 points (up 18.0%).

MRPL Financial Update...

MRPL net profit fell 167.4% YoY to Rs -7,048 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 10,458 million a year ago. Net sales rose 26.0% to Rs 287,859 million during the period as against Rs 228,438 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, MRPL reported 35.5% increase in net profit to Rs 35,971 million compared to net profit of Rs 26,554 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 19.0% to Rs 755,901 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MRPL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 30.5.
