MRPL Gains 4%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 1.9%

MRPL share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 211.8.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 32,477.4 (up 1.9%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are HPCL (up 3.4%) and BPCL (up 2.8%).

GUJARAT GAS (down 0.1%) is among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, MRPL has moved up from Rs 85.5 to Rs 211.8, registering a gain of Rs 126.3 (up 147.8%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,983.0 to 32,477.4, registering a gain of 71.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 123.4%), GAIL (up 110.2%) and BPCL (up 91.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 80,488.4 (up 0.1%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are NTPC (up 1.8%) and Reliance Ind. (up 1.2%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,574.5 (up 0.1%). Hindalco and BPCL are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,401.9 to 80,488.4, registering a gain of 15,086.5 points (up 23.1%).

MRPL Financial Update...

MRPL net profit fell 93.5% YoY to Rs 656 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 10,127 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.9% to Rs 272,894 million during the period as against Rs 248,251 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, MRPL reported 35.5% increase in net profit to Rs 35,971 million compared to net profit of Rs 26,554 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 19.0% to Rs 755,901 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MRPL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 14.1.
