MRPL Gains 4%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 0.1%

MRPL share price has zoomed 4% and is presently trading at Rs 195.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 30,816.1 (up 0.1%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are GAIL (up 0.3%) and HPCL (up 0.3%).

GUJARAT GAS (down 0.1%) and Petronet LNG (down 0.1%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, MRPL has moved up from Rs 94.7 to Rs 195.0, registering a gain of Rs 100.3 (up 106.0%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 19,278.9 to 30,816.1, registering a gain of 59.8% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 138.9%), BPCL (up 88.2%) and IOC (up 84.2%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tech Mahindra (down 2.2%) and Infosys (down 2.0%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Motors and NTPC.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,404.0 (down 0.1%). Tech Mahindra and LTIMINDTREE are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 67,596.8 to 83,023.0, registering a gain of 15,426.2 points (up 22.8%).

MRPL Financial Update...

MRPL net profit fell 93.5% YoY to Rs 656 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 10,127 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.9% to Rs 272,894 million during the period as against Rs 248,251 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, MRPL reported 35.5% increase in net profit to Rs 35,971 million compared to net profit of Rs 26,554 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 19.0% to Rs 755,901 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MRPL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 13.0.
