MRPL Gains 3%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Up 3.2%

MRPL share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 203.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 31,838.5 (up 3.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are ONGC (up 6.8%) and BPCL (up 2.6%).

GUJARAT GAS (down 0.7%) is among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, MRPL has moved up from Rs 81.9 to Rs 203.1, registering a gain of Rs 121.3 (up 148.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,945.7 to 31,838.5, registering a gain of 68.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 121.2%), GAIL (up 100.3%) and BPCL (up 90.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,184.3 (up 0.8%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (up 2.4%) and Maruti Suzuki (up 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,218.5 (up 0.9%). ONGC and Coal India are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,953.5 to 79,184.3, registering a gain of 13,230.8 points (up 20.1%).

MRPL Financial Update...

MRPL net profit fell 93.5% YoY to Rs 656 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 10,127 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.9% to Rs 272,894 million during the period as against Rs 248,251 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, MRPL reported 35.5% increase in net profit to Rs 35,971 million compared to net profit of Rs 26,554 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 19.0% to Rs 755,901 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MRPL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 13.5.
