MRPL Gains 3%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 0.8%

MRPL share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 175.3.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 29,956.3 (down 0.8%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today is Reliance Ind. (up 0.4%).

GAIL (down 2.9%) and BPCL (down 2.0%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, MRPL has moved up from Rs 103.5 to Rs 175.3, registering a gain of Rs 71.8 (up 69.4%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 19,000.3 to 29,956.3, registering a gain of 57.7% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 153.4%), BPCL (up 98.2%) and IOC (up 82.7%).

The BSE Sensex is at 81,205.7 (down 0.4%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are M&M (down 2.5%) and Maruti Suzuki (down 1.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and SBI.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,821.7 (down 0.6%). Bajaj Auto and Hero Motocorp are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,166.9 to 81,205.7, registering a gain of 15,038.7 points (up 22.7%).

MRPL Financial Update...

MRPL net profit fell 93.5% YoY to Rs 656 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 10,127 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.9% to Rs 272,894 million during the period as against Rs 248,251 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, MRPL reported 35.5% increase in net profit to Rs 35,971 million compared to net profit of Rs 26,554 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 19.0% to Rs 755,901 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MRPL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 11.7.
