M&M Gains 3%; BSE AUTO Index Up 2.1%

M&M share price has zoomed 3% and is presently trading at Rs 3,186.2.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO index is at 61,839.4 (up 2.1%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE AUTO index today are Maruti Suzuki (up 4.7%) and Motherson Sumi (up 3.6%).

Balkrishna Ind (down 1.1%) and TUBE INVESTMENTS OF INDIA (down 1.1%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, M&M has moved up from Rs 1,589.0 to Rs 3,186.2, registering a gain of Rs 1,597.2 (up 100.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO index has moved up from 36,764.0 to 61,839.4, registering a gain of 68.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO index stocks during this same period were Bajaj Auto (up 152.3%), Motherson Sumi (up 120.0%) and Cummins India (up 117.8%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 85,698.6 (up 0.6%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Maruti Suzuki (up 4.7%) and Bajaj Finserv (up 3.1%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 26,187.5 (up 0.7%). Maruti Suzuki and Bajaj Finserv are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,023.7 to 85,698.6, registering a gain of 19,674.9 points (up 29.8%).

M&M Financial Update...

M&M net profit fell 5.9% YoY to Rs 32,213 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 34,226 million a year ago. Net sales rose 9.8% to Rs 372,177 million during the period as against Rs 338,916 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, M&M reported 7.9% increase in net profit to Rs 122,698 million compared to net profit of Rs 113,745 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 14.0% to Rs 1,382,793 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of M&M, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 36.2.
