MAHANAGAR GAS share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 1,389.4.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 26,845.2 (down 2.9%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are IOC (down 4.4%) and HPCL (down 4.1%).

Over the last one year, MAHANAGAR GAS has moved up from Rs 1,032.7 to Rs 1,389.4, registering a gain of Rs 356.7 (up 34.5%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,233.1 to 26,845.2, registering a gain of 47.2% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 121.8%), BPCL (up 72.8%) and Petronet LNG (up 66.9%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 78,469.4 (down 1.7%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Bajaj Finserv (down 3.9%) and MUNDRA PORT & SEZ (down 3.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are ICICI Bank and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,905.7 (down 1.6%). Hero Motocorp and Bajaj Auto are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,874.9 to 78,469.4, registering a gain of 14,594.5 points (up 22.8%).

MAHANAGAR GAS Financial Update...

MAHANAGAR GAS net profit fell 16.2% YoY to Rs 2,835 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 3,385 million a year ago. Net sales rose 13.5% to Rs 19,629 million during the period as against Rs 17,289 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, MAHANAGAR GAS reported 61.6% increase in net profit to Rs 12,764 million compared to net profit of Rs 7,901 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 0.2% to Rs 56,659 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of MAHANAGAR GAS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 12.0.
