Jindal Saw Plunges 50%; BSE METAL Index Down 0.4%

Jindal Saw share price has plunged 50% and is presently trading at Rs 376.9.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 32,991.1 (down 0.4%).

Among the top losers in the BSE METAL index today are Hindalco (down 0.7%) and Vedanta (down 0.6%).

APOLLO TUBES (up 1.7%) and SAIL (up 0.3%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Jindal Saw has moved up from Rs 334.8 to Rs 376.9, registering a gain of Rs 42.1 (up 12.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 22,378.1 to 32,991.1, registering a gain of 47.4% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were Vedanta (up 125.8%), Coal India (up 70.8%) and Hindustan Zinc (up 63.4%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 81,822.9 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (up 2.0%) and Tech Mahindra (up 1.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 25,056.3 (up 0.2%). BPCL and Tata Motors are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 65,512.4 to 81,822.9, registering a gain of 16,310.5 points (up 24.9%).

Jindal Saw Financial Update...

Jindal Saw net profit grew 68.4% YoY to Rs 4,112 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 2,442 million a year ago. Net sales rose 12.0% to Rs 49,391 million during the period as against Rs 44,102 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, Jindal Saw reported 252.6% increase in net profit to Rs 15,929 million compared to net profit of Rs 4,518 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 17.3% to Rs 209,577 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Jindal Saw, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 6.8.
