JSW ENERGY Gains 5%; BSE POWER Index Up 2.2%

JSW ENERGY share price has zoomed 5% and is presently trading at Rs 723.1.

Meanwhile, the BSE POWER index is at 8,378.2 (up 2.2%).

Among the top gainers in the BSE POWER index today are Power Grid Corp. (up 4.1%) and NTPC (up 3.5%).

Siemens (down 1.1%) and ABB (down 0.4%) are among the top losers today.

Over the last one year, JSW ENERGY has moved up from Rs 292.6 to Rs 723.1, registering a gain of Rs 430.5 (up 147.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE POWER index has moved up from 4,186.3 to 8,378.2, registering a gain of 100.1% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE POWER index stocks during this same period were BHEL (up 220.2%), ADANI POWER (up 184.0%) and TORRENT POWER (up 154.8%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Power Grid Corp. (up 4.1%) and NTPC (up 3.5%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Power Grid Corp..

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,868.3 (up 0.1%). BPCL and Power Grid Corp. are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 66,707.2 to 81,395.1, registering a gain of 14,687.9 points (up 22.0%).

JSW ENERGY Financial Update...

JSW ENERGY net profit grew 84.0% YoY to Rs 5,304 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 2,882 million a year ago. Net sales declined 1.7% to Rs 28,795 million during the period as against Rs 29,279 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, JSW ENERGY reported 16.5% increase in net profit to Rs 17,247 million compared to net profit of Rs 14,801 million during FY23. Revenue of the company grew 11.2% to Rs 114,859 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of JSW ENERGY, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 64.8.
