IOC Plunges 4%; BSE OIL & GAS Index Down 1.5%

IOC share price has plunged 4% and is presently trading at Rs 141.6.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 27,176.6 (down 1.5%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are GAIL (down 2.6%) and HPCL (down 1.8%).

Indraprastha Gas (up 3.0%) is among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, IOC has moved up from Rs 87.6 to Rs 141.6, registering a gain of Rs 54.0 (up 61.6%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,128.5 to 27,176.6, registering a gain of 49.9% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 129.7%), BPCL (up 79.7%) and GAIL (up 68.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 79,557.8 (down 0.6%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Tata Motors (down 4.1%) and Indusind Bank (down 2.7%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Motors and Tata Steel.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,192.2 (down 0.6%). Tata Motors and Dr. Reddys are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,049.1 to 79,557.8, registering a gain of 15,508.8 points (up 24.2%).

IOC Financial Update...

IOC net profit fell 108.4% YoY to Rs -11,239 million for the quarter ended September 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 133,905 million a year ago. Net sales declined 3.2% to Rs 1,986,158 million during the period as against Rs 2,052,830 million in July-September 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, IOC reported 268.8% increase in net profit to Rs 431,612 million compared to net profit of Rs 117,043 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 8.3% to Rs 6,714,683 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of IOC, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 12.6.
