INDIAN METALS Plunges 7%; BSE METAL Index Up 1.0%

INDIAN METALS share price has plunged 7% and is presently trading at Rs 800.5.

Meanwhile, the BSE METAL index is at 33,483.4 (up 1.0%).

Among the top losers in the BSE METAL index today are APOLLO TUBES (down 1.2%) and Hindustan Zinc (down 0.6%).

Coal India (up 2.4%) and Vedanta (up 1.7%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, INDIAN METALS has moved up from Rs 286.6 to Rs 800.5, registering a gain of Rs 513.9 (up 179.3%).

On the other hand, the BSE METAL index has moved up from 20,054.0 to 33,483.4, registering a gain of 67.0% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE METAL index stocks during this same period were NMDC (up 139.8%), Hindustan Zinc (up 131.5%) and Coal India (up 113.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 76,935.2 (up 0.6%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are Power Grid Corp. (up 1.4%) and Tata Motors (up 1.4%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Tata Motors.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,388.5 (up 0.5%). Coal India and BPCL are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 62,724.7 to 76,935.2, registering a gain of 14,210.5 points (up 22.7%).

INDIAN METALS Financial Update...

INDIAN METALS net profit fell 0.9% YoY to Rs 636 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 642 million a year ago. Net sales rose 10.0% to Rs 7,006 million during the period as against Rs 6,369 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, INDIAN METALS reported 55.5% decrease in net profit to Rs 2,258 million compared to net profit of Rs 5,077 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 2.8% to Rs 26,764 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of INDIAN METALS, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 11.6.
