Hero Motocorp Plunges 2%; BSE AUTO Index Down 0.7%

Hero Motocorp share price has plunged 2% and is presently trading at Rs 5,513.2.

Meanwhile, the BSE AUTO index is at 57,148.2 (down 0.7%).

Among the top losers in the BSE AUTO index today are TUBE INVESTMENTS OF INDIA (down 3.6%) and Bosch (down 2.1%).

Motherson Sumi (up 1.9%) and Cummins India (up 1.5%) are among the top gainers today.

Over the last one year, Hero Motocorp has moved up from Rs 2,782.5 to Rs 5,513.2, registering a gain of Rs 2,730.8 (up 98.1%).

On the other hand, the BSE AUTO index has moved up from 33,893.6 to 57,148.2, registering a gain of 68.6% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE AUTO index stocks during this same period were Motherson Sumi (up 128.9%), Bajaj Auto (up 109.3%) and Cummins India (up 105.2%).

What About the Benchmark Indices?

The BSE Sensex is at 77,478.9 (up 0.2%).

The top gainers among the BSE Sensex today are JSW Steel (up 1.7%) and Tata Steel (up 1.6%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and HDFC Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 23,579.2 (up 0.3%). Hindalco and Grasim Industries are among the top gainers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 63,168.3 to 77,478.9, registering a gain of 14,310.6 points (up 22.7%).

Hero Motocorp Financial Update...

Hero Motocorp net profit grew 20.4% YoY to Rs 10,180 million for the quarter ended March 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 8,455 million a year ago. Net sales rose 14.0% to Rs 96,167 million during the period as against Rs 84,343 million in January-March 2023.

For the year ended March 2023, Hero Motocorp reported 20.2% increase in net profit to Rs 27,999 million compared to net profit of Rs 23,291 million during FY22. Revenue of the company grew 15.6% to Rs 341,584 million during FY23.

The current Price to earnings ratio of Hero Motocorp, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 28.5.
