HPCL share price has plunged 5% and is presently trading at Rs 383.0.

Meanwhile, the BSE OIL & GAS index is at 27,613.2 (down 2.7%).

Among the top losers in the BSE OIL & GAS index today are ADANI TOTAL GAS (down 4.6%) and IOC (down 3.9%).

Over the last one year, HPCL has moved up from Rs 166.0 to Rs 383.0, registering a gain of Rs 217.0 (up 130.7%).

On the other hand, the BSE OIL & GAS index has moved up from 18,236.6 to 27,613.2, registering a gain of 51.4% during the last 12 months.

The top gainers among the BSE OIL & GAS index stocks during this same period were HPCL (up 130.7%), BPCL (up 80.5%) and GAIL (up 69.8%).

The BSE Sensex is at 79,321.2 (down 0.9%).

The top losers among the BSE Sensex today are Indusind Bank (down 19.4%) and M&M (down 4.9%). The most traded stocks in the BSE Sensex are Tata Steel and Indusind Bank.

In the meantime, NSE Nifty is at 24,135.5 (down 1.1%). Indusind Bank and M&M are among the top losers in NSE NIFTY.

Over the last 12 months, the BSE Sensex has moved up from 64,571.9 to 79,321.2, registering a gain of 14,749.3 points (up 22.8%).

HPCL Financial Update...

HPCL net profit fell 95.9% YoY to Rs 2,459 million for the quarter ended June 2024, compared to a profit of Rs 60,658 million a year ago. Net sales rose 1.5% to Rs 1,209,433 million during the period as against Rs 1,191,623 million in April-June 2023.

For the year ended March 2024, HPCL reported 329.4% increase in net profit to Rs 160,146 million compared to net loss of Rs 69,802 million during FY23. Revenue of the company fell 2.2% to Rs 4,057,439 million during FY24.

The current Price to earnings ratio of HPCL, based on rolling 12 month earnings, stands at 9.7.
